It is getting better every day…

I was very excited today when KSLA reporter asked me to tag along.  We covered two seperate developing stories, and I was more than happy to be along for the ride.

Reporting is definitely my forte- it just makes more sense.  I noticed that she and I had the same questions in mind to ask during the interview, and much of the time our storyline was the same.  I was much more at ease in the reporting process, though it is not a peice of cake…

The first story that we covered was dealing with a worker’s strike at the Sanitation Department.  As I arrived, there was Breaking News that the workers had stormed the mayor’s office demanding changes…  We quickly left to be on the scene as worker’s returned and got plenty of commentary and video to build a great package.

Next, Adria had an interview with the Bossier City Police Chief in regards to an early morning burglary and ended in the criminals attempt to hit a police officer with his vehicle.  It was an interesting experience, the interview was done in the foyer of the Bossier City Police Station, where an irate family member of the imprisoned man was present causing quite a fuss.

Being able to be a part of the reporting and story writing was a lot of fun today.  It did, once again, make me appreciate the producing side of the newscast, however, because those responsibilities remain as well.
